Fire retardant wood (also called FR wood or fire-treated timber) is natural wood that has been chemically treated to reduce its flammability and slow the spread of fire.​ Fire retardant wood is real wood that has been pressure-impregnated with fire-retardant chemicals. These chemicals react when exposed to heat, forming a protective layer that: Slows down ignition, Reduces flame spread, Produces less smoke.
Plony Industries is an authorised service provider for LONZA Dricon chemical pressure treatment of wood products. Wood and timber is impregnated with the fire retardant chemical solution under vacuum and high pressure conditions to give the products a long lasting protection. The process is being carried out at our own facility by trained personnel. Plony supplies ready treated fire retardant timber and fire retardant plywood.
​DRICON Fire Retardant Wood Treatment

Lonza Wood Protection offers tried, tested and trusted industrially applied fire retardants for timber and panel products. Proven fire protection for interior applications without the need for a protective coating. DRICON reduce the surface spread of flame, heat and smoke release during a fire, giving vital extra time for a safe escape. It can impregnate all faces of the timber of board products creating a protection that requires no maintenance. This is a real benefit over site applied and uncontrolled fire-retardant coating products. Meets European Standard EN 13501-1 requirements. Comply to the BS476-6: 1989/A1:2009 and BS 476-7:1997 standards. Fire Retardant Treated Wood provides an additional benefit of termite and decay protection to the wood on top of is fire resistance properties. Fire Retardant Plywood and Timber (Setsco Certification of Conformance)

Plony Industries supplies fire retardant plywood and fire retardant timber. Our fire retardant plywood and timber is certified by Setsco Singapore under the Product Listing Scheme (PLS) which is regulated by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). The fire-retardant plywood and timber falls under the category of material for wall/ ceiling/ floor construction, certification scheme 2. Each batch of fire-retardant plywood and timber will be supplied together with the relevant certification.

For all fire retardant wood supplied by Plony Industries, an in-house Certificate of Conformance will be issued to certify that the timber and plywood have undergone proper fire retardant treatment in accordance with Setsco testing requirements. It is essential to have the correct certification to ensure that all fire retardant wood used in building projects fully complies with Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) safety standards.

Please note that the Setsco Certificate of Conformance (COC) is issued specifically to Plony Industries Pte Ltd. Therefore, only fire retardant wood supplied by Plony Industries is covered under this certification and deemed compliant with the relevant standards. For proper documentation and verification, ensure that the Plony Industries in-house certificate is always attached together with the corresponding Setsco COC.

Upon request, Plony Industries can arrange for batch testing of the treated fire retardant wood products at an accredited laboratory to verify that the fire retardant treatment meets the required performance standards.
